Born in Lancashire, England 1966. Lives and works in London.

Begins camera obscura work.

Moves to London. Works as a commercial photographer.
1994-1999
Teaches photography at Bournemouth and Poole College of Art and Design.

Artist-in-residence at the Scottish Ballet.

Learoyd exhibited his work widely in the late 80’s and early 90’s before taking a full time teaching position at the Arts Institute in Bournemouth.
